China's state-run Xinhua News Agency has said a memorial meeting for former President Jiang Zemin will be held in Beijing on Tuesday.
The news agency said on Thursday that the event will take place from 10 a.m. in the Great Hall of the People. No funeral has been scheduled.
The announcement was made by the Funeral Committee, which is headed by President Xi Jinping. The memorial gathering will be televised live, and public entertainment activities will be suspended.
The public will be asked to pay a three-minute silent tribute, while horns and air defense alarms will be sounded.
In Beijing's Tiananmen Square, flags have been flying at half-mast since Thursday in mourning for the former president.
