Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has presented to Ukraine's parliament his "Victory Plan" to end Russia's invasion of the country. The five-point plan includes an immediate invitation to join NATO. Zelenskyy maintains should this plan be implemented, Russia's invasion will end by 2025. Zelenskyy addressed the parliament on Wednesday, explaining that Ukraine's victory plan aims to strengthen the country and its positions so Ukraine will be strong enough to end the war. One of the five points calls for an unconditional invitation to NATO that will officially begin the process of Ukraine's membership to the bloc. The plan also includes defensive tactics, such as lifting Western nations' restrictions on the use of long-range weapons to attack Russia and Ukraine continuing operations in Russia's territory. Another calls for strengthening deterrence against Russia. The president said whether the plan can be implemented will depend on Ukraine's partners. He added if Ukraine starts moving forward with the Victory Plan now, it may be possible to end the war no later than next year. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Zelenskyy is pushing NATO troops into direct conflict with Russia. She called his plan not a plan of victory, but a plan of misfortune for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
