A: Hey there! Heard any news lately?
   B: Not much, just been keeping busy here. What's up?

A: Oh, you gotta check this out. It's about those floods in Indonesia, man.
   B: Floods? How bad is it?

A: They say at least 770 people have died and over 400 are still missing! More than half a million folks have been displaced in North Sumatra Province.
   B: Wow, that's terrible. Any updates on the evacuation centers?

A: Yeah, it's sad to hear that heavy rain last night flooded a tent at one of those centers. People had to take shelter in a roofed parking area instead.
   B: I bet they must be going through a tough time right now. What did the evacuees say?

A: A 56-year-old evacuee shared that this is the worst damage he's ever experienced. His house was flooded after an embankment collapsed, and now he needs help rebuilding and with basic necessities.
   B: That must be so tough for him. What about those who went back home?

A: Some residents are cleaning up, but it's hard because many have lost their income due to the floods. They say it's harder to secure food and daily essentials at home than they were at the evacuation centers.
   B: Man, I can't even imagine. Let's hope things get better for them soon.

A: Japan's Foreign Ministry said that the last of eight Japanese nationals stranded in Aceh Province was rescued by Indonesian authorities on Tuesday afternoon.
   B: That's great news! Hope they're all safe now.

A: Floods also hit Sri Lanka and Thailand, and over 1,400 people have been confirmed dead across the three countries. About 800 are still unaccounted for in Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
   B: It's a tough time out there, for sure. Let's keep them in our thoughts.
