1. Soga Hitomi, a Japanese citizen who was abducted by North Korea in 1978 and repatriated in 2002, gave a speech in Tokyo urging the early return of other abductees. 2. Soga spoke about her ordeal in North Korea and shared her feelings for her mother, Miyoshi, who remains missing and will turn 94 years old in December. 3. Soga appealed to Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and government officials to arrange a summit meeting with North Korea to address the issue of the missing abductees, after the recent death of Arimoto Akihiro, who was separated from his daughter Keiko (also an abductee).
