A: Hey, Katsuo! Got any news?
   B: Not really, Kenji. What's up?

A: Well, I heard something interesting about Taiwan. Their president, Lai Ching-te, wants to increase their defense spending to 5% of their GDP by 2030!
   B: No way! That's a big jump, isn't it?

A: Yeah, it is! But with all the tension between Taiwan and China lately, I guess they feel like they need to beef up their defense. Lai even visited a naval base in Yilan on Friday to talk about it.
   B: That sounds serious... but it makes sense, doesn't it?
