North Korean leader Kim Jong Un praised his army as the strongest in the world in a speech during celebrations to mark Wednesday&#039;s 75th anniversary of the troops&#039; founding.
                
State-run Korean Central Television aired footage of Kim attending a ceremonial event, which took place the day before, with his wife Ri Sol Ju and their daughter.
                
The broadcaster also released a photo showing a former aide to Kim, Hwang Pyong So, posing with the leader and other army officials. Hwang is known to have been dismissed from his post as a member of the ruling Workers&#039; Party&#039;s political bureau sometime before 2018.
                
The military insignia on Hwang&#039;s uniform suggests he was promoted to lieutenant general. Observers say this was done to boost the army&#039;s loyalty to Kim.
                
Meanwhile, experts on North Korea are speculating that the country will likely hold a large-scale military parade on Wednesday for the first time since April as part of the celebrations.
