Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia have traded jabs at the United Nations General Assembly in New York over Azerbaijan's military action in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Azerbaijani military launched what it called anti-terrorism operations on Tuesday in the region where residents are ethnic Armenians.
The fighting ended the following day after Armenian forces agreed to a truce and accepted full disarmament.
On Saturday, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov accused Armenia of military provocation and defended his country's action, calling it an anti-terrorism operation.
He said the operation had achieved its initial objective and disarmament of Armenians is underway.
Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in his address that more than 200 deaths and more than 400 injuries are confirmed in the region.
He condemned the Azerbaijani action, saying that the military operation is destroying the peace and stability of the region, gravely violating human rights and poses a threat to the existence of Armenians.
Mirzoyan urged the UN to take the side of victims of mass atrocities in the world. He urged the UN to send a mission immediately to monitor the situation.
