In Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres are preparing to face off in next month's season opener. It will be held for the first time in South Korea.

Japanese sensation Ohtani Shohei joined his third day of spring training.

Ohtani watched his new teammate Yamamoto Yoshinobu practice pitching.

Yamamoto threw 34 pitches, including breaking balls.

Yamamoto said, "I think I kept my own style of pitching. I talked with Ohtani about things like types of pitches."

Ohtani will not be pitching this season, as he is recovering from elbow surgery.

Ohtani said, "I trained myself with almost 100 percent strength. I will go on to the next stage such as machine training and hitting against real pitches."

Ohtani wore a device that reportedly adjusts his physical load and monitors changes in acceleration and speed.

Ohtani said, "I'm concentrating on batting and running. I want to keep good health condition so I can get through the season without suffering from any injuries."

And a new pitcher for the Padres is Matsui Yuki, who left Japanese baseball for the Major Leagues in December.

Matsui said, "Hi, Hello everyone. My name is Matsui Yuki. Surely I promise you that I always give my best to bring wins and joy through my pitches."

Matsui worked hard to fit, introducing himself in English, Spanish and even Korean to reporters from South Korea. Matsui says he is getting a lot of support from teammate and veteran Japanese pitcher Darvish Yu.
The Dodgers and Padres will play against each other in Seoul on March 20 and 21.
