China executes killer of student at Japanese school NHK

China has executed a man convicted of fatally stabbing a boy while he was on his way to a Japanese school in Shenzhen, southern China, last September.

The Japanese Embassy in Beijing said it was informed of the execution by China's foreign ministry on Monday.

The man, in his 40s, was sentenced to death in January for killing the 10-year-old boy in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.

China recently executed another man for a fatal knife attack on a Japanese school bus last June in Suzhou, eastern China.

Japanese expats in China have lingering concerns about their safety, as it remains unclear why children attending Japanese schools were targeted in both cases.
