Japanese authorities will offer a second multilingual consultation session for foreign residents affected by the earthquake that struck central Japan on New Year's Day. The Nagoya Regional Immigration Services Bureau says in-person consultations will be available at the Ishikawa Prefectural International Exchange Center in Kanazawa from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on January 26. Consultations will be available in English, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Indonesian, Chinese, Portuguese, and other languages. Interpretation services will be provided in-person and by telephone. Online services are also available. For those requesting online consultations, please refer to Japan's Immigration Services Agency website for the meeting ID and password to join the session online. Japan's Immigration Services Agency has announced measures to make it easier for quake-affected foreigners to extend their residence status by bypassing regular procedures until the end of June.
