3 injured in knife attack on train in Osaka NHK

Three people have been wounded in a knife attack on a train bound for the Kansai International Airport in Osaka Prefecture. Police say none of the injuries are life-threatening.

A railway worker at Rinku-town Station in Izumisano City made an emergency call around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, saying a person had been stabbed in the face.

Police say a conductor and two passengers were stabbed and injured in the face, wrists and other areas and were taken to hospital.

Police apprehended a 37-year-old man on the platform of the station and arrested him on suspicion of attempted homicide.

Train service was temporarily suspended due to the incident.
