A cargo jet has made an emergency landing in the southern US state of Florida after fire broke out in one of its engines. US media outlets say the Atlas Air cargo plane returned to Miami International Airport soon after take-off on Thursday. Footage distributed by the AP news agency shows flames shooting from the plane. The Boeing 747 jet with five crew members safely returned, and no injuries were reported. The US Federal Aviation Administration says there was a softball-size hole above the engine. It says investigators are looking into what caused the fire. The FAA is investigating another recent incident involving a Boeing passenger jet. On January 5, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9 had to return to an airport in the state of Oregon after a cabin panel blew off the aircraft in mid-air.
