A: Hey! Did you hear about what’s happening in Gaza?

B: No, what’s new? It’s always something, isn't it?

A: Well, it’s been three months since the ceasefire. Remember all the trouble?

B: Yeah, it was awful. I saw something about it on NHK. What’s the situation now?

A: It's a bit better, actually! They’re selling fresh food in the markets - chicken and veggies! There’s even a new restaurant, grilling chicken.

B: Wow, that's good news! But it sounds like it was really bad at first.

A: It was! People were fighting over food.  The UN said the famine is over, but there's still not enough food.

B: Seriously?  Prices must be crazy high.

A: You’re right. Tomatoes and eggs cost three times as much as before! People still can't afford to buy essentials.

A: Also, the ceasefire isn't perfect. Israel is still doing some attacks. Sadly, almost 440 people have died.

B: That’s terrible. What about the hostages? Did they all get back?

A: Not quite. There’s still one hostage left.  A guy named Guy Gilboa Dalal was held captive for two years! He’s just trying to recover now. It sounds really tough.

B: Oh my gosh, two years! Poor guy. I heard Trump was involved in the peace deal?

A: Yeah, a professor said Trump mainly wanted to stop the fighting and get some credit.

B:  Hmm, maybe he’s not so interested anymore? It sounds like things aren’t going well.

A: Exactly! Hamas doesn't want to disarm. So, peace seems far away for now. It's complicated.
