Police in Tokyo are revealing more about the murder of a woman who was livestreaming on a street. They say the suspect has revealed that he provided her with as much as 670 dollars per month via virtual tipping, even after lending her large amounts of money. Sato Airi, a 22-year-old resident of Tokyo's Tama City, was fatally stabbed on Tuesday in the Takadanobaba area of Shinjuku Ward. Police arrested 42-year-old Takano Kenichi. He had lent her more than 2.5 million yen, or about 17,000 dollars, to cover rent and other living expenses, and filed a civil lawsuit demanding she pay it back. Trial records show that he learned of Sato through a video streaming app, and that they first met in August 2022. Police quote Takano as saying that he wanted to hurt her for failing to reimburse him and cutting off contact.
