He said he hopes the governments of Iran and Russia will cooperate to solve the problems.
                
During his first presidency, Trump unilaterally withdrew from a nuclear agreement with Iran and reinstated economic sanctions.
                
That prompted Iran to strengthen economic ties with Russia and China.
