The labor union of US aircraft maker Boeing says its members will vote on Wednesday on a new wage deal aimed at ending a strike that began over a month ago. The union said in a statement on Saturday that it had received a negotiated proposal and resolution to end the strike with the help of the US government. The deal includes a 35-percent wage increase spread over four years and a reinstated incentive plan. The statement also says the union will present members with an offer that "is worthy of your consideration." The strike began on September 13 after talks over pay hikes broke down. Boeing's production and deliveries have been badly affected by the walkout involving more than 30,000 union workers at plants near Seattle and elsewhere. The stoppage has prompted the aircraft maker to announce a plan to raise up to 25 billion dollars to bolster its financial standing.
