Russian forces are intensifying their offensive in the eastern and other regions of Ukraine, ahead of the one-year anniversary of their invasion.
Ukraine's defense ministry says the Russian military attacked civilian infrastructure and miscellaneous facilities in the western part of the country, destroying houses and causing civilian casualties.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine is at the top of the agenda at an annual security conference in the German city of Munich.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said in his speech at the conference on Saturday, "To win the war, Ukraine needs more artillery, armored vehicles and air defence."
Sunak called on other countries to double down on their military support.
He said, "Together we're delivering as much equipment in the next few months as in the whole of 2022."
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba attended a panel discussion at the conference. He said the most important security guarantee that partners can give to Ukraine is to firmly and unconditionally believe in the victory of his country.
He called for ammunition, artillery and tanks as additional military support.
A large-scale rally was staged by ethnic Ukrainians and other people in Munich to call for enhancing support for Ukraine. About 1,000 people gathered, many of them carrying placards calling for support of Ukraine.
