Toyota Motor is set to resume domestic production of three cars involved in a data falsification controversy. The automaker halted manufacturing of the models three months ago, when the scandal broke. Assembly lines of two Corolla models and the Yaris Cross will go back online on Monday night at two plants in northeastern Japan. Output was suspended in June when Toyota received a government order to halt shipments after the firm admitted to rigging certification test data. The order was lifted in late July after the three models were confirmed to be in compliance with state safety standards. Transport authorities disclosed more test data irregularities involving Toyota models in July. The company submitted a report in August explaining what it would do to ensure the wrongdoing didn't happen again. It also pledged to improve legal compliance and step up internal inspections. Toyota is separately reopening 13 plants in Japan that it closed last week due to Typhoon Shanshan, which has since been downgraded.
