Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says his country has in practice frozen participation in the Russian-led Collective Security Treaty Organization.
                
In an interview with French television on Thursday, Pashinyan said the CSTO has failed to fulfill its security obligations towards Armenia.
                
He also said there are no discussions about closing a Russian military base in his country.
                
Last September, ethnic Armenians were forced to surrender in Nagorno-Karabakh following a military offensive by Azerbaijan. The region has been disputed for decades.
                
Pashinyan was dissatisfied with the lack of military support from Russia, and the country has grown increasingly distant from the Kremlin.
                
Speaking in Germany last Sunday, he said Armenia is not Russia&#039;s ally regarding the invasion of Ukraine.
                
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that Armenia had not taken any official actions and Moscow will contact the country&#039;s government for clarity.
