1. US President Donald Trump helped broker a ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia in October, but border skirmishes resumed this week resulting in deaths and displacement of hundreds of thousands.
2. On Friday, Trump announced a renewed agreement for both sides to halt shooting starting from the same evening, returning to the original peace accord they had made with his assistance.
3. The agreement comes after phone talks between Trump and leaders of Thailand (Anutin Charnvirakul) and Cambodia (Hun Manet), as well as the involvement of Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
