Foreign ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations will hold a special meeting on Thursday in Jakarta to discuss the situation in Myanmar.
The talks in the Indonesian capital will come ahead of an ASEAN summit next month.
                
The 10-nation bloc has been leading efforts to implement a five-point peace &quot;consensus&quot; agreed with Myanmar&#039;s junta leader last year. The road map aims to end the conflict in the country that has continued since last year&#039;s coup.
                
It calls for an immediate end to the use of force and for a special envoy to mediate dialogue with all relevant parties. But little progress has been made on implementing the accord.
                
ASEAN has not invited Myanmar&#039;s military leader, Min Aung Hlaing, or the military-appointed foreign minister to its meetings since last year.
                
Cambodia, the current chair of the group, says the bloc won&#039;t invite the senior general to next month&#039;s summit, either.
                
Indonesia reportedly suggested holding the foreign ministers meeting this week amid no signs of progress in the situation in Myanmar.
                
Ministers are expected to discuss whether ASEAN should take a tougher stance against the member country.
