Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says his country has information that Russia is planning a prolonged attack using Iranian-made drones. He says the attack is aimed at exhausting Ukraine's people, its air defenses and its energy sector.
Zelenskyy issued a video address on Monday.
He said, "Only two days have passed since the beginning of the year, and the number of Iranian drones shot down over Ukraine is already more than 80."
Zelenskyy stressed his determination to continue to counter Russia's offensive, saying that Ukraine has to do everything it can so that "this goal of terrorists fails like all the others."
