An estimated magnitude 4.3 earthquake has struck Shika in Ishikawa Prefecture just five days after a major temblor rocked the town on New Year&#039;s Day. Authorities say there is no threat of a tsunami.
                
The Japan Meteorological Agency says the quake struck on Saturday at around 11:20 p.m. Japan time. Officials say the epicenter was off the coast of Noto Peninsula at a depth of about 5 kilometers.
                
The agency says the jolt registered an intensity of lower 6 on the Japanese seismic scale of zero to 7.
                
The operator of the town&#039;s nuclear power plant said there are no reports of irregularities following the quake.
                
Government officials hastily gathered at the Prime Minister&#039;s Office to collect information.
                
Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa spoke to reporters as he left the office. He said officials have comprehensively studied the information, and concluded that the latest tremor had no major impact on the previously affected areas.
