A senior South Korean government official says a meeting of the leaders of his country, the United States and Japan is being planned for August in America.
South Korea's Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Kim Tae-hyo revealed the plan on Tuesday.
Kim referred to US President Joe Biden's proposal to invite South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio to the US for a summit. He said the meeting is expected in August.
Kim said the leaders will discuss issues including national and economic security.
