1. Multiple bear attacks occurred in northern Japan over the past week, particularly in Akita Prefecture.

2. The attacks resulted in several fatalities and injuries, with one person (a 38-year-old man) dying from his wounds in Higashinaruse Village. Authorities have found and killed a bear believed to be responsible for that attack.
