Reuters news agency has reported that US President Donald Trump's administration is planning to revoke temporary legal status for some 240,000 Ukrainians who fled to the United States after Russia's invasion. Reuters reported the move on Thursday, quoting a senior US government official and other sources. The agency said the move, expected as soon as April, could potentially put the Ukrainians on track for deportation. The administration of former President Joe Biden accepted Ukrainians from a humanitarian perspective. When asked about the report at the White House on Thursday, Trump said, "We're not looking to hurt anybody." He continued, "There were some people that think that's appropriate, and some people don't." He then indicated he will make a decision soon. US-Ukraine relations have been strained since last week's summit between Trump and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which descended into a heated argument. But Reuters added that the planned rollback of protections for Ukrainians was underway before the meeting.
