The governor of Ukraine's Kharkiv region said three people were killed and some others seriously injured after Russian forces launched a bombing attack.

Police said a five-story residential building in Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv was damaged by the attack on Saturday, which killed a man walking on the street and a woman at a bus stop.

Police cited information that glide bombs were used in the attack.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russians have used more than 2,400 guided aerial bombs against Ukraine since the beginning of June alone. He said about 700 of them targeted the Kharkiv region.

Zelenskyy reiterated the need for support in obtaining air defense systems and long-range missiles.

Russia launched missile attacks against Ukraine overnight into Sunday. Authorities in the Kyiv region said more than 20 houses were damaged by fragments of the intercepted missiles.

Meanwhile, Russia's defense ministry said it intercepted 33 Ukrainian drones in the western part of Russia, near Ukraine, overnight into Sunday.

Ukrainian forces said on Sunday that they destroyed a storage facility for attack drones in the southern Russian region of Krasnodar.
