North Korea has condemned Japan's updated key defense documents, which would give Japan the ability to launch counterstrikes.

The Japanese government approved the National Security Strategy and two other documents at a Cabinet meeting last Friday.

North Korea's foreign ministry issued a statement on Tuesday warning that the country will show with action its concern and displeasure with Japan's move. The statement did not specify what that action could be.
