Ukraine says Russian forces continue attacks across country NHK

Ukraine's air force said on Wednesday that Russia carried out attacks across the country with five missiles and 42 drones.

It also said the country's military shot down 38 of them.

Ukrainian officials reported seven people were injured in the northeastern region of Sumy.

They also said facilities and infrastructure were damaged in the country, including a school building in the eastern region of Kharkiv.

The International Criminal Court on Tuesday issued arrest warrants for two high-ranking Russian officers on suspicion of war crimes over strikes on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. Russia reacted sharply to the move.

Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Moscow does not recognize the warrants as it is not a party to the statute.

The court issued warrants in March last year for President Vladimir Putin and another senior official over the transfer of children from Ukraine to Russia.
