A: Hey buddy! Did you catch the latest news?
B: Nah, what's up?
A: So, Trump just announced that a trade deal with China is almost done!
B: What do you mean?
A: Well, they've been talking about it for a while now and top officials had two days of discussions in London.
B: Oh, I see. And what did Trump say exactly?
A: He said the deal is done, but it needs final approval from both him and China's President Xi Jinping.
B: That sounds interesting! So, what's next?
A: Well, he mentioned that China will supply us with full magnets and any necessary rare earths. We'll also keep letting Chinese students study in our colleges and universities.
B: Whoa, that's quite a deal! Did the talks go well overall?
A: Yeah, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told lawmakers that the talks were successful. But he warned China to be reliable during the negotiations. If they do that, then the balance between our economies could be restored.
B: That makes sense. I wonder what's going to happen next.

US President Donald Trump said Wednesday a trade deal with China "is done," after top officials wrapped up two days of talks in London the day before.
Trump made the announcement on social media.
He noted that it is "subject to final approval" with himself and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump said: "Full magnets, and any necessary rare earths, will be supplied, up front, by China. Likewise, we will provide to China what was agreed to, including Chinese students using our colleges and universities."
At a hearing at the House Ways and Means Committee, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told lawmakers that the talks were successful. But he urged China to be a "reliable partner" in trade negotiations.
Bessent said if China "will course correct by upholding its end of the initial trade agreement" outlined at the Geneva talks last month, then the rebalancing of the world's two largest economies is possible.
The discussions lasted late into the night on Tuesday.
The two sides finally agreed on a framework for easing trade tensions, building on the consensus reached in Switzerland.
