Authorities in Norway have seized 5.8 million dollars' worth of cryptocurrency allegedly stolen by the North Korean hacker group Lazarus.
Norway's national economic crime unit said on Thursday that Lazarus hacked a blockchain project linked to an online game in March last year.
It said the group is believed to have stolen as much as 480 million dollars' worth of cryptocurrency in the heist.
The investigators say they worked with specialists from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Lazarus is said to be controlled by the North Korean government.
Crypto assets stolen by the group are believed to help fund Pyongyang's nuclear and missile programs.
The Norwegian investigators say they will return the seized assets to the victims and continue to investigate the North Korean group's activities.
