China&#039;s trade surplus against the United States grew nearly 4 percent year on year in the first two months of 2025. This could add fuel to the escalating trade friction between the world&#039;s two largest economies.

The same set of data show the value of China&#039;s total exports expanded 2.3 percent thanks to brisk shipments to Southeast Asia. Imports dropped 8.4 percent.
