The US Federal Trade Commission said on Tuesday it has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Amazon together with 17 state attorneys general. The FTC accuses the tech giant of engaging in a course of conduct that illegally maintains its monopoly power. The lawsuit says Amazon's practices include charging costly fees on sellers that currently have no choice but to rely on the online retailer to stay in business. It also alleges that if Amazon finds a seller offering lower-priced goods elsewhere, it can rank the seller lower in its search results.
