Japan Airlines will launch its first new flagship airliner in 20 years next month. The first of its fleet of Airbus A350-1000s arrived at Tokyo's Haneda Airport on Friday. Its first flight will leave from Haneda to New York's JFK Airport on January 24. The company plans to receive a total of 13 of the airliners. The carrier has been using Boeing 777s as its flagship model for international routes. The airline says the new A350s can cut carbon-dioxide emissions by up to 25 percent compared with other current airliners. Japan Airlines also says it plans to replace the equivalent of 1 percent of all its onboard fuel with plant-based Sustainable Aviation Fuel on flights leaving Japan.
