Osaka 2025 Expo organizer seeks to sell 7 million advance tickets to businesses NHK

The 2025 Osaka world expo organizer is asking businesses to purchase 7 million advance tickets.

The event, to be held in the Kansai region, is scheduled to open in April 2025.

The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition expects the attendance of about 28 million visitors. It hopes that about half of them will buy tickets in advance.

An advance ticket for an adult allowing one entry at any time during the exhibition costs 6,000 yen, or about 42 dollars.

As a large part of its costs will be covered by ticket sales, the organizer is hoping the advance sales will contribute to the event's stable operation.

The association plans to sell the 7 million tickets through the regional Kansai Economic Federation and other economic organizations across Japan.

But it remains uncertain how many tickets businesses are willing to purchase amid the current lackluster momentum.
