Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has confirmed that an unidentified object which violated the country's airspace was shot down.
He wrote on his Twitter account that "Canadian and US aircraft were scrambled" and that a US F-22 fighter jet shot the object down.
He added that Canadian forces will recover and analyze the wreckage.
This follows the downing of another object by US forces on Friday over US territorial waters in northern part of the state of Alaska.
Earlier this month, a US fighter jet shot down a Chinese balloon off the coast of South Carolina.
