Monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in Thailand's north and south causing floods and landslides. At least 20 people have been killed, including 13 in the southern province of Phuket. Downpours triggered a huge earth slip in the tourist destination early Friday. A Russian couple, nine migrant workers from Myanmar and two Thais lost their lives. The disaster left 19 others injured and damaged more than 200 homes. Cleanup and recovery efforts are underway. But local officials warn more landslides could occur, with rains persisting in the region. In the north, flooding has continued for the past two weeks, killing at least nine people and affecting over 20,000 households. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra visited one of the hardest-hit provinces, Nan, over the weekend. Weather and disaster officials expect more heavy rains across the nation this week. They're urging people to take precautions against flash floods.
