The secretary general of Japan&#039;s ruling Liberal Democratic Party has pointed out the importance of solving pending issues and concretely promoting cooperation to improve bilateral ties at a meeting with China&#039;s foreign minister.
                
LDP Secretary-General Moriyama Hiroshi and his counterpart of the junior coalition partner Komeito, Nishida Makoto, met with Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Tuesday.
                
Wang said the two neighboring countries should strengthen cooperation in various fields, and that both countries&#039; ruling parties share heavy responsibility for that purpose.
                
Moriyama said he wants joint efforts with China to solve problems and pending issues as much as possible in line with a broad direction reached in a summit meeting last November. He also said he aims to promote cooperation in a concrete manner, so that the two countries&#039; citizens will be able to feel that bilateral ties have improved.
                
Nishida said the next meeting of the Japan-China Ruling Party Exchange Council will be held in Japan later this year. He said the council&#039;s member politicians have an important mission to accelerate improvements in the bilateral relationship.
