S.Korea, US extend joint air drill following North's missile launches NHK

The South Korean and US militaries have decided to extend the ongoing joint air drills following the latest missile launches by North Korea on Thursday.

The five-day exercise was scheduled to end on Friday. About 240 aircraft, including state-of-art stealth fighter jets, are taking part.

The South Korean military said on Thursday that it has agreed with the US side on the need to demonstrate the strong joint defense posture in the wake of North Korea's provocations and a serious security crisis.

The two militaries have yet to decide until when they will continue the exercise.
