Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov says he has discussed with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin weapons supply plans for next year.

Umerov said on Monday he had a phone conversation with Austin. The talks came before US President-elect Donald Trump takes office in January.

Umerov said the focus of their discussion was strategic planning for 2025, particularly regarding the supply of weapons and equipment.

They are believed to have talked about US military aid plans, with an eye on the inauguration of the Trump administration.

As for the battle in Ukraine, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian defense ministry's intelligence agency said it has information that Russia has used about 60 North Korean-made KN23 short-range missiles.

The official made the remark in an interview released by Radio Free Europe on Monday.

The person also spoke about some 2,000 of about 11,000 North Korean soldiers reported to have been sent to Russia.

The official said if the troops have already been assigned to Russian units engaged in active combat operations, it can be said that they have already joined fighting, though they may not be on the front lines.
