A: Hey there! Heard anything exciting lately?
   B: Not much, just the usual. What's up with you?

A: You won't believe this! So, there's this guy named Nathan Law, right? He's a pro-democracy activist from Hong Kong.

B: Oh, I think I've heard his name somewhere...

A: Right! Well, he went into exile in Britain last year because he opposed the National Security Law for Hong Kong. Anyway, this weekend, he tried to visit Singapore but they wouldn't let him in!

B: What do you mean? He was turned away at the airport or something?

A: Exactly! He had a visa, but after being questioned by officials, they sent him back to the US. The Singapore government said it wasn't in their national interest for him to be there.

B: That's crazy! What did he do wrong?

A: Well, he was a leader of the 2014 Umbrella Movement protest and continues to call for international support for the pro-democracy movement after fleeing to Britain. Plus, Hong Kong officials have put him on a wanted list for allegedly violating their national security law, which covers activities outside the territory.

B: Wow, I can't imagine how scary that must be for him! But it's good he still fights for democracy, right?
