Thai police have extradited four Thai nationals to Malaysia over suspected human trafficking. The men are believed to be linked to mass graves apparently of Rohingya Muslims found eight years ago along the Thai-Malaysian border. Malaysian police found 139 bodies buried in the jungle in northern Perlis state in May 2015. Forty-six people, including Thai politicians and police, were arrested in connection with the case. In 2017, Malaysian authorities asked the Thai government to extradite 10 people suspected of involvement in the incident. The four handed over on Thursday face human-trafficking charges punishable by 15 years' imprisonment. The Rohingya minority lives in western Myanmar. In 2017, many were killed in a bloody military crackdown that followed attacks by militants on police posts, and over 700,000 crossed into neighboring Bangladesh. Large numbers of Rohingya continue to fall victim to human traffickers as they flee persecution for surrounding nations.
