Japan's Defense Ministry says North Korea launched another projectile, possibly a ballistic missile, on Wednesday afternoon. State Minister of Defense Ino Toshiro told reporters that North Korea fired at least one missile eastward from its eastern coast between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The government's analysis suggests that the missile landed outside Japan's exclusive economic zone after flying a short distance at an extremely low altitude of under 50 kilometers. Ino said North Korea launched more than 10 missiles on Wednesday alone, after issuing an extremely provocative comment before dawn. He also said the country is rapidly escalating its provocations, including its reported firing of more than 100 shells toward the Sea of Japan. He called the actions absolutely intolerable, saying they threaten the peace and stability of Japan and the international community. Japan Coast Guard officials say they have not received any reports of damage to ships in nearby waters. South Korea's military says the North fired three short-range ballistic missiles from its east coast on Wednesday morning. It says one of the missiles crossed the Northern Limit Line and landed in international waters northwest of Ulleungdo Island off North Gyeongsang Province in eastern South Korea. The military issued an air raid warning for areas around the island.
