Health ministry confirms 891 new COVID cases in Tokyo on Sunday NHK

Japan's health ministry reported 891 new cases of the coronavirus in Tokyo on Sunday.

The daily tally is down 65 from a week ago.

The ministry also confirmed one death.

The number of seriously ill patients who are on ventilators or ECMO heart-lung machines is up one from Saturday to five.

Nationwide, 7,028 new infections and 15 deaths were confirmed.
