At least 125 people have been reportedly killed in an explosion at a fuel facility in Azerbaijan's breakaway region of Nagorno-Karabakh. The blast occurred near the key city of Stepanakert on Monday night. Armenian media reported the death toll by quoting Armenia's health minister. The incident comes as many ethnic Armenians flee the region for fear of repression following the recent military action by Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijan military launched what it called anti-terrorist operations in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19. The fighting ended after the ethnic Armenian forces agreed to a truce that required them to disarm. The cause of the explosion is unknown. But a number of residents could have gathered at the site in an attempt to flee to Armenia in vehicles. About 120,000 ethnic Armenians are said to live in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Armenian government said more than 28,000 people had crossed into the country as of Tuesday evening.
