In a video posted on social media, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would welcome extending the pause to allow for the release of more hostages. He suggested fighting would be paused one additional day for each additional 10 hostages freed.

Hamas said in a statement on Sunday that it would seek to extend the deal after the four-day period ends by releasing a larger number of hostages.
