Japan's health ministry confirmed 1,138 new cases of the coronavirus in Tokyo on Sunday. The daily figure is up 246 from a week ago, and marks the seventh straight day of week-on-week increases. The ministry also confirmed three deaths linked to COVID-19 in the capital. Nationwide, 8,694 new infections and 20 deaths were reported on Sunday.
