Media reports say US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet in Washington Monday. Trump has been pressuring both Israel and the Islamic group Hamas to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza.



The US news website Axios and other Western media outlets on Monday quoted Israeli and US officials as saying Netanyahu is scheduled to visit Washington on July 7 and to meet Trump at the White House.



White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Monday that Israel's Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, an aide to Netanyahu, will hold talks with senior Trump administration officials this week at the White House.



She added that the meeting between Trump and Netanyahu is being arranged.



Trump wrote on social media on Sunday, "MAKE THE DEAL IN GAZA."



But Israeli forces are continuing to attack the Gaza Strip.



On Monday, they struck the northern part of Gaza after issuing fresh evacuation orders to residents in the area.
