US President Donald Trump has floated the idea of canceling a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Islamic group Hamas in the Gaza Strip if hostages held by Hamas are not released by Saturday. Trump made the remark while speaking to reporters on Monday. Noting that whether to cancel the ceasefire is up to Israel to decide, Trump said, "as far as I'm concerned, if all of the hostages aren't returned by Saturday at 12 o'clock, I think it's an appropriate time. I would say, cancel it and all bets are off and let hell break out." Earlier on Monday, Hamas announced it will delay the release of hostages scheduled for Saturday as it says Israel has violated the six-week ceasefire agreement. Hamas said the sixth round of hostage releases scheduled for Saturday will be postponed. Three hostages were reportedly expected to be freed. Israel has reacted sharply to the announcement.
