A: Hey, Yumi! Heard anything interesting lately?
   B: Not much, just been working on my kanji. Why? What's up?

A: There's some news about Japan and China, remember our trip to Kyoto last year?
   B: Oh yeah, that was fun! So what's going on now?

A: Well, the Chinese government is asking its citizens not to travel to Japan right now.
   B: Why's that? Something happened again?

A: Yeah, they said there might be more earthquakes near Honshu island. Remember the big one we felt last time?
   B: Ah, yes! I was hoping things had calmed down a bit. But it seems they aren't sure if there could be stronger quakes soon.

A: Exactly! And they said Monday's earthquake caused some tsunami waves and injuries. They even asked over 100,000 people to evacuate.
   B: That's scary. I hope everyone stays safe over there.

A: The Chinese government also advised citizens not to travel in November, because of what they called a deterioration of the security situation.
   B: Right, that was when our prime minister talked about Taiwan, wasn't it? I wonder how things are going between the two countries.

A: Japan's deputy chief cabinet secretary said they're working hard to give accurate and timely info about disaster preparedness. They also hope business between Japan and China continues.
   B: That's good to hear. I hope everything gets sorted out soon, so we can plan another trip together!
